The Emil Jacoby Family and Biodynamic Agriculture
Emil Jacoby and his brother Ernst, a member of the Koberwitz Circle, had their first contact with biodynamic agriculture in the 20ies of the last century. Emil was given a personal copy, numbered 112, of Rudolf Steiner's Agriculture Course.
Today, the brethren's descendants operate farms based on the principles of biodynamic farming.
Since 1988, they have been cultivating fruit, especially apples, plums and pears, in Franche Comte, a sparsely populated landscape, which is among the most untouched regions in France.
At the location of the Jacob fruit juice press house in 79424 Auggen/Baden, apples are biodynamically cultivated on a 40 hectares area.
The family press the apples themselves and fill the product in 1litre packages, the 2 litre apple juice packages are filled by a contractor in Alsace. In Auggen, apple vinegar is bottled in 0,5 litre bottles, a marmalade producer in the High Rhine region is commissioned to fill apple pulp.
JACOBY DEMETER is committed to provide full product traceability.
